Dr. Dalia Girgis specializes in general ophthalmology and cataract surgery. Dr. Girgis received her doctoral degree in microbiology from LSU Health Sciences Center in New Orleans in 2004. She received her Doctorate of Medicine in 2008 from the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine, where she was elected to the medical honor society Alpha Omega Alpha. After completing an internship in internal medicine at Mt. Sinai Medical Center in Miami Beach, Florida, Dr. Girgis completed her ophthalmology residency at University of Wisconsin-Madison, where she was elected chief resident. She has published numerous papers in peer-reviewed journals and is board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology. She is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery.

Lisa Kay Mao, M.D.

Dr. Mao is highly trained and has many years of experience specializing in contact lens fittings and in the treatment of Dry Eye Syndrome. Dr. Mao received her Doctorate of Medicine in 1988 from Duke University School of Medicine. She completed her residency in ophthalmology at Bascom Palmer Eye Institute.

Drew Bawcombe, M.D.

Specialization: Vitreo-Retinal Surgeon

Dr. Bawcombe is a board certified, fellowship trained vitreo-retinal surgeon. He specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of a full complement of retinal problems including diabetic retinopathy, macular pucker, macular hole, macular degeneration, and retinal detachment repair. Dr. Bawcombe has active interests in retinal laser and imaging technology in diagnosing retinal diseases. He completed his MD at University of Buffalo in 2005. He then attended Virginia Commonwealth University where he completed his preliminary year of medicine in 2006 and his ophthalmology residency in 2009. Dr. Bawcombe served as Chief Resident for a one-year term during his residency program. While a native of New York, he was excited at the chance to learn vitreo-retinal surgery at the University of Florida during a two year training period where he participated in hundreds of surgeries learning the most advanced procedures.
